INTRODUCTION

Bayview Sporting was founded in 1994 by Alvin Pillay, Anand Govender and Anton Marie. The club’s official colours was royal blue and gold. The purpose for the creation of Bayview Sporting was to promote and encourage the interest of football in the local area.

Bayview Sporting has won numerous accolades from its inception.

The club started with only an Under 10 team and at the end of its first year were the winners of the Nando’s Cup, Winners in the League, Champion of Champions and Runner Up in the Steelware Cup.  In addition to this phenomenal success saw Anand Govender receive the Association’s Manager of the year and Sherwin Marie the Association’s Under 10 player of the year.

1995 Saw the expansion of Bayview Sporting with the addition of Under10, Under 12A and Under 12B divisions.  The years achievements culminated with the Under 10 being the winners of the League, Winners of Nandos K.O. Cup, Winners of Steelware K.O. Cup.  The Under 12B were the winners of the League, Winners of the Steelware K.O. Cup and Runner Up of the Nandos K.O. Cup.  Anand Govender was yet again named the Associations Manager of the year.

Bayview Sporting maintained its 3junior divisions in 1996 with an Under 10, Under 12 and Under 14 teams.  Yet again the accolades flowed in with the Under 10 being the winners in the Golden Jewellers K.O. Cup and the league Runner Up.  The Under 12 were League winners, Winners of the Golden Jewellers K.O. Cup and the Runner Up in the Nandos K.O. Cup.  The Under 14 were the Runner Up in the League. Bayview Sporting outshone at the Associations banquet by being crowned Team of the year and Best dressed team of the year.

The clubs talent advanced into 1997 with the Under 12 being the League winners, the winners of the Solly M K.O. Cup and the winners of the Daddy’s K.O. Cup.  The Under 14 were the League Winners, Solly M.K.O. Cup winners and the Daddy’s K.O. Cup winners.  Under 16 were the league runner up and the semi finalist in the Daddy’s K.O. Cup.  Rowen Govender won the Solly M Under 14 player of the tournament.  Hakiem Moolla was the Associations Under 14 player of the year and yet again Anand Govender the Associations Manager of the year.

With the primary focus being football at grass root level Bayview Sporting introduced 4 junior sides to the Association in 1998.  Under 11, 13, 15 and 17.  The success continued to flow and at the culmination of the season Under 11 were the League runner up, B.Nagiah’s semi finalist and quarter finalist in the Solly M. K.O. Cup.  Under 13 were league winners, B.Nagiah K.O. Cup winners, Solly M.K.O. Cup runner up.  Under 15 were league winners, B.Nagiah K.O. Cup winners and Solly M.K.O. Cup quarter finalist.  Under 17 were the league runner up and Solly M. K.O. Cup quarter finalist.

In the years thereafter the Association introduced regionalization to all clubs. This saw the integration of all local clubs in an area being absorbed into one gigantic club.  This regionalization process saw the lack of interest from numerous players and officials were forced to release those interested to play for clubs of their choice.

With the founding members still keeping in contact and trying to restore the fame that it once had,  2003 saw the re-birth of Bayview Sporting.

The club is Affiliated to the SAFA Chatsworth Football Association and has registered players in the Under 9,Under 11, Under 13, Under 15, Under 17 , Girls Under 13 and Senior divisions..  The clubs AGM saw the election of more skilled and enthusiast members that are willing to take the club forward.
